Hello Rian,

Thanks for reaching out.

I want to confirm what part of the process is causing this error? Is the user trying to return the borrowed license early, or are they trying to initiate borrowing the license?

A couple things to note:

While users can borrow licenses, the Borrow tab in Lmtools and the features contained within it are not currently set up and configured to work with our licensing service.
If you are receiving that error preventing a user from borrowing a license, sometimes deleting specific registry keys from the client machine can allow a seat to be successfully borrowed. This is if the user had initially tried to borrow and return early, and is now unable to borrow again.

*IMPORTANT: BE CAREFUL EDITING THE REGISTRY ON YOUR MACHINE> DELETING THE WRONG KEY CAN CAUSE MAJOR ISSUES FOR YOUR OPERATING SYSTEM AND THE CHANGES CANNOT BE REVERTED.

Delete the two REG_BINARY keys located in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\FLEXlm License Manager\Borrow. The screenshot below shows these two keys as they appear on my machine:
Deleting these two keys will remove the borrow and revert the license to the network defined in the .lic file located in C:\ProgramData\Blue Marble Geographics\Geographic Calculator\Lic on the client machine.
• Note that in our test these keys also appear in HKEY_USERS and may need to also be removed from this location. On my machine, the full registry address is: HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-1957994488-308236825-1801674531-3155\Software\FLEXlm License Manager\Borrow
